Field Technology Specialist (Physical Security Systems)

Location: Plattsburgh, NY, USA; field work with travel of up to 85% of the time.

Salary: $25.00–$40.00 per hour; $5,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.

What you will do

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot low-voltage systems supporting physical security and IT infrastructure.
• Deploy cameras, access control devices, biometric systems, power supplies, locking hardware, and related equipment.
• Run video and data cabling, assemble hardware with hand and power tools, and follow technical drawings and design specifications.
• Evaluate system performance, provide quality assurance feedback, and support hardening and configuration of Windows-based environments.
• Coordinate project materials and equipment, track hardware receipt, and support timely delivery of project deliverables.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in low-voltage installation, security systems, or IT hardware deployment.
• Strong understanding of IP-based systems, networking fundamentals, video surveillance, and low-voltage infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, schematics, and design plans; basic electrical theory is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain government-issued security clearances.
• Valid driver's license and readiness to travel approximately 85% of the time.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors, climb ladders, lift equipment, and work at heights.

Nice to have

• A+, Network+, Security+, BICSI, or similar industry certification.
• Experience installing and maintaining video surveillance systems.
