Physical Security Systems Technician - IT & Infrastructure

Location: Based in New York, United States, with frequent nationwide travel of up to 75%+

Base compensation: $112,000–$140,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot CCTV systems, including cameras, NVRs/DVRs, and VMS platforms.
• Support access control systems, including badging, controllers, readers, and permissions.
• Perform hardware replacements and support upgrades, migrations, and new site rollouts.
• Execute system testing and Site Acceptance Testing, validating coverage, performance, failover, storage retention, connectivity, and integrations.
• Provide on-site and remote support across multiple US locations while working with vendors and integrators.
• Document configurations, incidents, troubleshooting activities, SAT results, inventories, network diagrams, and system architecture.

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with physical security systems, including CCTV and access control.
• Experience installing and configuring cameras and access control hardware, plus system testing, commissioning, or SAT activities.
• Networking knowledge covering TCP/IP, VLANs, routing basics, PoE, DNS, and DHCP.
• Windows and Linux administration, storage fundamentals, log analysis, and troubleshooting across hardware, software, operating system, and network layers.
• Ability to work independently in remote locations with minimal supervision and produce clear, audit-ready technical documentation.
• Valid driver's license, authorization to work in the United States, and willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the United States are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise VMS and access control platforms.
• Experience in data center, critical infrastructure, or enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of low-voltage cabling standards and structured testing methodologies such as SAT, UAT, or commissioning.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, system health validation, virtualization, and enterprise IT environments.
