Salary: $175,000–$263,000 USD annually

What you will do

  • Own the design, development, integration, verification, and delivery of spacecraft avionics systems from concept through flight-qualified hardware.
  • Define the foundation of future interplanetary avionics architecture and technical standards.
  • Lead avionics hardware builds covering PCB design, harnessing, embedded systems, and environmental qualification.
  • Collaborate with propulsion, guidance and control, thermal, and software teams on system integration and performance.
  • Coordinate component selection, testing, supplier activities, and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain design documentation, test plans, and technical reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of experience designing, developing, and delivering avionics or electronics for aerospace systems or similarly complex environments.
  • Ability to take designs from concept through production with minimal supervision.
  • Hands-on experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, embedded software interfaces, and system-level testing.
  • Experience communicating technical information clearly and working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

  • Technical experience with Mars missions.
  • Experience applying NASA aerospace systems engineering practices in a new-space context.
  • Experience with deep-space or high-radiation avionics systems.
  • Background in spaceflight hardware environmental testing and qualification.
