What you will do

  • Lead the full lifecycle design of BMS PCBAs, including circuit simulation, schematic capture, layout, and manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and software teams to ensure seamless hardware integration into the battery pack.
  • Design circuits for diagnostic coverage, redundancy, and fault-tolerance to meet strict safety goals.
  • Perform hands-on PCBA bring-up and verification using lab equipment across various operating conditions.
  • Coordinate with PM, DFM, and supply chain teams to manage builds and support production needs.
  • Partner with controls engineers to facilitate hardware fault injection tests on HILs and packs.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience designing and verifying complex electrical circuits.
  • Proven experience with high-voltage battery systems and BMS electronics.
  • Proficiency in Altium Designer and circuit simulation tools like LTSpice.
  • Detailed knowledge of PCB design rules including IPC-610 / 2221 / 2222.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience with HV battery systems in both aviation and automotive contexts.
  • Knowledge of DO-160G, ISO 26262, or other regulated industry standards.
  • Layout experience with both flexible and rigid board stackups.
  • Experience designing to industry standards for electromagnetic emissions and susceptibility.
