Senior BMS Electrical Engineer (Aerospace)

Salary: $144,000–$185,000 base pay annually

What you will do

• Lead high-voltage battery management system PCBA designs through simulation, schematic capture, layout, routing, reviews, manufacturing, and revisions.
• Integrate BMS hardware with the battery pack and other aircraft electrical systems in collaboration with mechanical, software, systems, safety, integration, and controls engineers.
• Design diagnostic coverage, redundancy, and fault-tolerant circuits aligned with system safety goals.
• Perform PCBA bring-up, verification, lab testing, and hardware fault-injection testing across operating conditions, HILs, and battery packs.
• Support software interfaces, documentation, production, design-for-test, failure root-cause analysis, component traceability, and build-process development.
• Coordinate builds with program management, DFM, supply chain, and quality teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience designing and verifying complex electrical circuits.
• Experience with high-voltage battery systems and BMS electronics.
• Experience with Altium Designer and circuit simulation tools such as LTSpice.
• Detailed knowledge of PCB design rules, including IPC-610, IPC-2221, and IPC-2222.
• Strong organizational, communication, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• HV battery system design experience in aviation and automotive contexts.
• Flexible and rigid board stackup layout experience.
• New product development experience in regulated industries such as aviation or medical devices.
• Experience with DO-160G, ISO 26262, or related standards.
• Experience designing for electromagnetic emissions and susceptibility standards.
