TL;DR
Senior Electrical Engineer I (Aerospace): Developing and testing avionics hardware for spacecraft programs with an accent on analog electronics, PCB design, and end-to-end electrical hardware development. Focus on circuit analysis, PCBA verification and system integration testing, and designing reliable hardware for space environments.

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite at hirify.global’s global headquarters

Base salary: $130,000–$170,000 USD per year in California

hirify.global is an end-to-end space company building rockets, spacecraft, and critical subsystems for commercial, exploration, national security, and defense missions.

What you will do

  • Develop PCBA requirements in collaboration with engineers from other disciplines.
  • Create schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
  • Perform power, tolerance, and reliability circuit analyses using SPICE and Excel.
  • Conduct PCBA design verification testing and system integration testing.
  • Support production manufacturing as needed.
  • Participate in spacecraft electrical hardware development from requirements definition through design, prototyping, fabrication, testing, and production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or another engineering discipline.
  • At least 5 years of electrical hardware design experience, including schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Strong background in analog electronics design.
  • Proficiency with circuit analysis in SPICE and Excel.
  • Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • For U.S. office work, eligibility under ITAR regulations is required: U.S. citizenship, lawful U.S. permanent residency, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain the required government authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Master’s or PhD in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or another engineering discipline.
  • Experience with electronic laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMMs, signal generators, and soldering irons.
  • Experience designing for space environments, radiation impacts, and high-reliability aerospace applications.
  • Experience with rigid-flex PCBs, electromechanical design, FPGA design, or embedded software development for ARM processors.
