Environmental Health & Safety Consultant

Location: Hybrid position based out of the employee’s home office in the Richmond, Oakland, Hayward, or Fremont area, serving clients throughout the Bay Area. Frequent onsite client visits and approximately 2–3 weeks of overnight travel per quarter are required.

Annual base salary: $70,000–$90,000, plus average yearly bonus potential of approximately $4,000 and travel allowances.

What you will do

• Conduct onsite field audits to identify unsafe and non-compliant conditions related to OSHA, DOT, Fire Code, and EPA regulations.
• Provide mitigation and corrective-action recommendations to automotive clients.
• Deliver employee training and moderate safety committee meetings.
• Develop, implement, and monitor accident prevention programs, policies, and procedures.
• Prepare and maintain compliance documentation, including Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Tier II, OSHA 300 logs, EPA IDs, tank permits, and SPCC plans.
• Build client, dealer group, state dealer association, and internal stakeholder relationships while identifying new sales opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Safety Studies, or a related discipline is preferred.
• At least three years of Environmental Health & Safety experience is preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication is required.
• Strong communication, report writing, documentation, organization, multitasking, and customer service skills.
• Strong computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, Microsoft Outlook, CRM, and phone/tablet applications.
• Active driver’s license and insurance are required, along with the ability to travel between client sites and stay overnight for multiple weeks per quarter.
