Safety Supervisor (Environmental Health and Safety)

Location: Onsite 5 days a week in Clifton, New Jersey, United States

Salary: $77,000–$91,000 USD per year, plus potential discretionary bonus, incentives, and benefits.

What you will do

• Monitor compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ANSI, DOT, and other applicable federal and state requirements.
• Implement safety programs, safe work practices, risk assessments, audits, and injury-prevention initiatives.
• Deliver safety training and coach employees and supervisors on safe behaviors and procedures.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, maintain safety records, and support compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with local management, employees, safety committees, and the HQ Environmental Health and Safety Manager.
• Work in industrial and warehouse environments, including prolonged standing and walking, ladder and stair use, variable temperatures, and advanced PPE such as fall protection and respirators.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of progressive experience in an environmental health and safety role.
• Associate degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Safety, or a related field.
• Current OSHA 10-Hour General Industry or Construction certification.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, EPA, DOT, environmental regulations, and Process Safety Management programs.
• Experience or familiarity with powered industrial trucks and strong communication, training, public speaking, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
• Knowledge of anhydrous ammonia refrigeration systems and related safety protocols.
