Environmental Health & Safety Engineer (Aerospace Manufacturing)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, protected individuals, or eligible to obtain the authorizations required under ITAR.

Salary: $135,000–$170,000 per year, plus potential stock options and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop EHS policies, procedures, and compliance solutions covering OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and other applicable regulations.
• Support EHS operations across manufacturing facilities, rocket test sites, and offices, standardizing practices across locations.
• Own environmental programs covering air quality, stormwater, hazardous waste, and industrial wastewater.
• Conduct audits, inspections, job hazard analyses, PPE assessments, and industrial accident investigations.
• Partner with engineering, facilities, architecture, HR, and learning teams on risk mitigation, emergency systems, training, and recordkeeping.
• Implement controls for machine guarding, lockout/tagout, chemical hazards, fire protection, hazard communication, and emergency response.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in environmental, health, and safety disciplines.
• 5+ years of experience maintaining compliance with water, CEQA, and other state and federal regulations.
• Experience interpreting, applying, and documenting federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
• Experience with OSHA reporting and recordkeeping, PPE hazard assessments, chemical safety, hearing conservation, industrial hygiene monitoring, airborne contaminants, machine guarding, and medical and first-aid services.
• Must meet applicable U.S. ITAR work-authorization requirements.

Nice to have

• 6+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with hazardous waste manifesting, CERS submissions, SWPPP, and AQMD reporting.
• Project management experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience implementing machine guarding and industrial hygiene programs.
