TL;DR

Location: Onsite in Long Beach, California, United States; travel between Long Beach, Hawthorne, and Mojave sites up to 25% of the time. Evening and weekend work may be required for critical mission milestones.

Salary: $90,200–$142,008 annually, depending on level and qualifications.

What you will do

  • Review facility design changes and capital projects for EHS, building-code, and safety compliance.
  • Manage technical EHS programs covering machine guarding, lockout/tagout, ventilation, and related engineering controls.
  • Conduct engineering risk assessments, Job Hazard Analyses, industrial hygiene sampling, and monitoring.
  • Develop environmental air-quality and hazardous-waste management programs and maintain equipment-specific procedures.
  • Lead technical investigations of injuries, near misses, and equipment incidents, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
  • Deliver technical training, track EHS KPIs, support safety committees, and work with engineering, maintenance, and regulators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Industrial Hygiene, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 2–5+ years of hands-on EHS experience in manufacturing or aerospace, including technical project management and program implementation.
  • Knowledge of hazardous energy and lockout/tagout, hot work, fall protection, confined-space entry, and ergonomic evaluations.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations, including EPA, OSHA, and California Air Resources Board requirements.
  • Experience with safety audits, hazard identification, regulatory interpretation, and cross-functional stakeholder communication.
  • Must qualify as a U.S. person under U.S. export-control rules or be eligible for deemed export licensing.

Nice to have

  • Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager certification.
  • Familiarity with powered industrial trucks and overhead crane systems.
