Senior Counsel, US Employment

Location: Houston, Texas, or the greater Washington, D.C.-Baltimore area. Flexible working arrangements include hybrid, remote, and virtual delivery.

hirify.global is establishing Trinzic as an independent public company through the planned separation of its Mission Technology Solutions business, serving government and commercial missions worldwide.

What you will do

• Advise business leaders and People team partners on employee relations, performance management, discipline, reductions in force, accommodations, leave, wage and hour compliance, policies, and terminations.
• Manage employment litigation, administrative charges, pre-litigation disputes, outside counsel, budgets, discovery, risk assessment, and resolution strategy.
• Respond to EEOC, Department of Labor, and other agency proceedings, including position statements, mediations, and administrative hearings.
• Conduct and oversee investigations involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, misconduct, and other workplace concerns.
• Draft and update employment policies, agreements, communications, and compliance practices.
• Advise on government contractor compliance, labor relations, workplace safety, international employment matters, and manager and employee training.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and good standing.
• 8+ years of labor and employment law experience in a nationally recognized law firm, corporate legal department, or both.
• Experience advising employers across multiple jurisdictions and managing employment litigation and administrative proceedings through resolution.
• Deep knowledge of Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, NLRA, and related federal, state, and local employment requirements.
• Strong investigation, communication, judgment, analytical, stakeholder management, outside counsel, budget management, eDiscovery, and Microsoft 365 skills.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting federal government contractors or highly regulated industries.
• Experience with OFCCP compliance, affirmative action programs, and government audits.
• Experience with union grievances, arbitrations, NLRB proceedings, international employment matters, mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, or workforce integrations.
• Prior in-house legal experience in a large corporate environment.
