Vice President of Quality (Aerospace)

Location: Fully hybrid, with regular in-person leadership at San Luis Obispo, California; Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas; and Dayton, Ohio-area operations. Regular domestic and international travel is required, including travel to the United Kingdom, Eastern Europe, and Australia. The role may be based elsewhere if frequent travel and meaningful on-site presence can be maintained.

What you will do

• Develop and execute the enterprise quality strategy across design, production, delivery, and sustainment.
• Build, certify, standardize, and continuously improve the enterprise Quality Management System across multiple facilities and manufacturing partners.
• Oversee product conformity, production readiness, first-article inspection, testing, acceptance, release, and delivery documentation.
• Lead supplier-quality strategy, qualification, audits, performance management, and corrective actions.
• Advise executive leadership and represent quality matters with customers, government agencies, regulators, and certification bodies.
• Build a global quality organization and use metrics, Lean principles, statistical methods, and structured problem-solving to improve performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing, aviation, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 15 years of aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated manufacturing experience, including at least 7 years of senior quality leadership across multiple locations.
• Experience leading quality for complex aerospace or electromechanical products and scaling an enterprise QMS across multiple facilities.
• Extensive knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, first-article inspection, configuration management, corrective action, supplier quality, and aerospace manufacturing controls.
• Experience with customers, government quality representatives, regulatory authorities, and certification bodies.
• Ability to travel regularly within the United States and internationally and obtain and maintain any required security clearance or export authorization. Employment eligibility in the United States must be verified.

Nice to have

• Experience with unmanned aircraft systems, aircraft production, avionics, propulsion, composites, or defense electronics.
• Department of Defense program and government source-inspection experience.
• Experience integrating quality systems at international manufacturing facilities.
• Familiarity with FAA, EASA, CAA, NATO, or military aviation requirements.
• AS9145, AS9102, AS9115, AS13100, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, or comparable quality certifications.
