Firefly Quality Specialist (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite at the Spacecraft Integration facility in Leander, Texas, United States

What you will do

• Inspect spacecraft components and sub-assemblies, including fluids, avionics, and structural hardware.
• Define and execute inspection programs to verify compliance with design, specification, and testing requirements.
• Document, quarantine, and process non-conforming products and lead containment activities.
• Collect and analyze production data on first-pass yield and non-conformance trends.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Maintain tool control, calibration, and metrology validation processes while supporting quality and Lean improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in aerospace, military, or manufacturing environments.
• Ability to read technical information, drawings, specifications, GD&T, and quality-control documentation.
• Experience with aerospace quality, military, or government standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organization, teamwork, and ability to follow technical instructions.
• Must meet U.S. Government ITAR eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or higher in quality, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100 or ISO 9001.
• IPC certification and familiarity with NASA-STD-8739.4.
• Experience with spacecraft manufacturing, root-cause analysis, Model-Based Definitions, or cleanroom operations.
