Thermal Analyst (Nuclear)

Location: US-PA-Cheswick (EMD); onsite at the Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location. US citizenship is required due to DoD requirements, and the role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Salary: $76,200–$110,000 per year; the range is a general guideline for a position based in Pennsylvania.

What you will do

• Perform thermal analysis of rotating machinery and associated fluid systems.
• Support ASME Code analyses and analyses based on other pressure-vessel and engineering codes.
• Conduct advanced thermal analysis of nuclear-grade equipment for commercial and government applications.
• Develop techniques for thermal analysis to support equipment design and mechanical analyses.
• Model equipment thermal performance and verify models through testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5–10 years of engineering analysis experience.
• US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
• Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis and hand calculations for thermal analysis.
• Ability to model the thermal performance of sophisticated systems.
• Experience with ANSYS.
• Problem solving, learning agility, priority setting, planning, drive for results, personal learning, customer focus, and peer relationship skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with WECAN and/or EMDAC finite element programs.
• Commercial nuclear industry design and analysis experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer.
