Senior Engineer - Land (Geotechnical Engineering)

Location: Hybrid in Walnut Creek, California, United States

Base salary: $125,000–$155,000 per year

What you will do

• Provide geotechnical engineering support across projects ranging from moderate to complex scope.
• Coordinate field exploration, laboratory testing, technical analysis, proposals, reports, and client deliverables.
• Interpret site investigation and subsurface data to develop practical geotechnical recommendations.
• Monitor project schedules, milestones, resources, budgets, quality, and delivery requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, laboratories, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Apply company, industry, QHSSE, and local regulatory standards to project execution.

Requirements

• Authorization to work in the United States without restrictions is required.
• At least five years of progressively responsible experience in geotechnical engineering consulting, including site investigations, geotechnical analyses, and report preparation.
• Strong knowledge of soil and rock mechanics, foundation engineering, seismic hazards, earthwork engineering, and construction observation.
• Professional Civil Engineer (PE) license in California is required. A Geotechnical Engineer (GE) license is preferred or expected within a defined timeframe.
• Experience preparing technical reports, proposals, specifications, and professional engineering deliverables.
• Strong analytical, organizational, decision-making, communication, client relationship, and stakeholder management skills.
