Principal Engineer (Structural Engineering)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, USA; onsite with travel required for site meetings and investigations

Salary: $150,000–$225,000 per year

What you will do

• Conduct field investigations, engineering analyses, and structural designs.
• Interact with clients and design and construction professionals.
• Perform forensic investigations and provide litigation support for expert witness services.
• Contribute to business development and build a book of business.
• Support the growth of the Chicago office and perform other assigned engineering duties.

Requirements

• 10–25 years of design and field experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required; a Master of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering is preferred.
• Professional engineering licensure or registration in Illinois is required.
• Experience with AutoCAD and computer-aided structural analysis and design is required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Some travel is required for site meetings and investigations.
• Experience or an established client portfolio in infrastructure, transportation, geotechnical engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, or structural dynamics is strongly considered.

Nice to have

• Experience with BIM software.
• Master of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
