Reg Mgr Economic Development (Territory WI, Eastern IA, IL, KY, TN, MS & AL)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; territory includes Wisconsin, eastern Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama. Business travel of at least 50% is required.

Salary: $107,000–$135,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead the identification and expansion of profitable industrial sites in coordination with marketing teams, customers, developers, government officials, and internal departments.
• Develop strategic plans for the efficient use and expansion of BNSF and private infrastructure assets.
• Coordinate site development activities, including track construction, leasing or purchasing, site identification, zoning, and environmental impact considerations.
• Maintain an inventory of available sites and build relationships with communities, industries, government entities, economic development agencies, brokers, and consultants.
• Qualify business opportunities and collaborate with the Premier Transload network to provide rail solutions and alternatives.
• Support cost-benefit and ROI analysis and apply the results when negotiating industrial projects.

Requirements

• Broad knowledge of railroad operations, general business, real estate, economics, and marketing strategies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and work collaboratively.
• Strong analytical and computer skills, self-direction, and a demonstrated record of results.
• Ability to manage a significant workload amid rapidly changing priorities.
• Ability to travel for business at least 50% of the time and remain on call as needed.

Nice to have

• Three years of corporate real estate or site selection consulting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, marketing, engineering, economics, or economic development.
• MBA or another graduate degree.
• Three years of experience in economic development, marketing, real estate, engineering, rail operations, planning and development, or industrial development.
• Proficiency in Salesforce.
