Facilities Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift

Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan; onsite five days per week

Salary: $29.00 per hour

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and tools.
• Inspect plumbing, electrical systems, fire alarms, emergency exits, automatic doors, and other building systems.
• Troubleshoot facility issues and respond to urgent maintenance needs.
• Maintain maintenance records and prepare required reports.
• Identify and report safety, health, and environmental concerns.
• Coordinate with third-party contractors and support facility projects and other departments.

Requirements

• At least two years of facility maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems.
• Ability to operate powered industrial equipment, work at heights with fall protection, and work outdoors in varied weather.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and perform frequent bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Familiarity with lock-out/tag-out procedures, mechanical safety, and required personal protective equipment.
• Ability to prioritize work independently, communicate effectively, and solve day-to-day maintenance problems.

Nice to have

• Degree or coursework in Industrial Maintenance Technology or a related field.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
