What you will do

• Act as the subject matter expert for electrical safety, leading technical discussions on test setup safety and proposing mitigations.
• Lead or contribute to incident and near-miss investigations, performing root cause analysis and defining corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct lab inspections and drive 5S+1 practices to improve safety, organization, and efficiency.
• Own electrical safety competence: maintain the competence framework, deliver training, and improve organizational electrical safety maturity.
• Integrate electrical safety into product development by partnering with NPI design teams, running Safety Risk Assessments (SRA), and supporting design reviews (including CDR).
• Partner with Manufacturing and Customer Support to ensure safe operation and service across the full lifecycle, leading risk assessments for NPI and the installed base.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of electrical system design experience, or MS in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience applying electrical safety standards and conducting risk assessments in product design.
• Experience in lab or manufacturing safety environments, including incident investigations, inspections, audits, and EHS management systems (e.g., Intelex or similar).
• Experience leading cross-functional safety initiatives without direct authority in complex equipment or industrial systems.
• Experience mentoring or acting as a subject matter expert in electrical safety.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety standards (e.g., SEMI S2, IEC 60204-1, IEC 61010-1, NFPA 70/70E/79, OSHA, UL) and safety risk assessment methodologies (e.g., ISO 12100, SEMI S10).
