Associate Technical Professional - Systems Engineer

Location: Onsite in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States. Travel to domestic and international locations is required approximately 20–50% of the time.

Salary: $75,000–$85,000 annually for Colorado.

What you will do

• Support requirements development, analysis, and management for communications and infrastructure modernization projects.
• Assist with system design and evaluation of hardware, software, and network subsystem interfaces.
• Participate in system integration, verification, validation, and acceptance testing.
• Develop test procedures, document results, resolve technical issues, and analyze system performance data.
• Support implementation planning, installation, integration, testing, commissioning, and deployment at operational satellite communications sites worldwide.
• Prepare engineering documentation and coordinate with software, network, cybersecurity, and hardware engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance; only U.S. Citizens are eligible.
• Understanding of systems engineering principles, system integration processes, and technical problem-solving.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 20–50% for field implementation and testing activities.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Linux, computer networking concepts, cybersecurity principles, and secure system design.
• Experience or coursework involving Software Defined Radios, communications systems, satellite communications, or information systems.
• Familiarity with orbital mechanics and space-based system concepts.
• Basic programming experience with Python, C/C++, Java, or similar languages.
• Experience with laboratory testing, requirements management, test documentation, or systems engineering lifecycle processes.
