Lead Mission Systems & Integration Engineer (Aerospace): Defining and integrating payloads, sensors, and mission equipment for prototype aerospace and defense vehicles with an accent on mission-system architecture, requirements, and rapid prototyping. Focus on evaluating early-stage concepts, integrating systems from concept through ground and flight testing, and producing technical analyses for advanced programs.
Location: San Jose, California, United States. Must be a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. Travel up to 10%.
Base pay: $138,200–$190,100 per year.

What you will do
- Lead mission systems design, requirements definition, and integration for prototype vehicles.
- Integrate payloads, sensors, mission equipment, and operator interfaces.
- Support rapid prototyping from mission architecture and concept development through ground and flight testing.
- Own mission systems technical approaches, standards, and integration methods within Special Programs.
- Assess the feasibility of emerging concepts, RFPs, and mission requirements.
- Prepare technical documentation, trade studies, and analysis packages, and represent the work in internal and government stakeholder reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Systems, or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience defining and integrating mission systems, payloads, or sensor packages for aerospace or defense platforms.
- Knowledge of mission-system requirements management and payload-to-airframe integration.
- Experience across the full development lifecycle, from concept through prototype, in fast-paced and resource-constrained environments.
- 8–12 years of relevant engineering experience or equivalent rapid-prototyping or advanced-programs experience.
- Must be a U.S. Person and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

- Ability to contribute outside the core discipline as a generalist.
