Machinist (Horizontal Lathe 2nd Shift)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; onsite in an air-conditioned modern shop; second shift

What you will do

• Set up and operate conventional, special-purpose, numerical control, and machining-center equipment.
• Install chuck jaws and fixtures and locate program zero using an edge finder or probe.
• Adjust program speeds, feeds, depth of cuts, and machine offsets as required.
• Machine metallic and nonmetallic parts to drawings and specifications.
• Measure completed parts, prepare inspection reports, and make offset adjustments.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of experience with CNC or manual machines.
• Experience with CNC lathes or mills.
• Ability to read and understand G-codes and M-codes using Fanuc controls.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications and produce precision work.
• Ability to machine exotic materials such as titanium and Inconel and perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations.

Nice to have

• Experience machining valve components.
• Manual machining experience with interest in learning CNC machines through the training program.
