Mid-Level Environmental Specialist

Location: Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, USA; primarily in office

What you will do

• Manage environmental projects from planning through completion, including budgets, schedules, permitting, impact assessments, site remediation, and sustainability initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with EPA, NEPA, CEQA, RCRA, CERCLA, and other local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
• Conduct environmental fieldwork and oversee subcontractors, data collection, sampling, and analysis for air, water, and soil quality.
• Prepare technical reports, permit applications, regulatory filings, proposals, and project bids.
• Draft figures and site plans using CADD and work with GIS and field data processing tools.
• Communicate with clients, agencies, and internal teams while mentoring junior staff and supporting business development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant environmental experience, preferably in consulting, energy, or industrial sectors.
• Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License required.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes, with the ability to read civil engineering plans, maps, and specifications.
• Proficiency with environmental modeling tools, GIS, field data processing software, CADD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to perform fieldwork, travel, lift or carry up to 50 pounds, and work safely under a Health and Safety Plan or applicable industry standards.

Nice to have

• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification.
• Professional certification such as PE, PG, CHMM, or QEP.
• Master’s degree in a related field.
