Principal Network Software Engineer (Space Systems)

Location: Onsite in Littleton, Colorado, United States. U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements, and an active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Base salary: $170,000–$220,000 USD per year, plus potential stock, cash incentives, and employee stock purchase opportunities.

What you will do

• Manage the software development and integration of routers, radios, and laser communication devices across spacecraft constellations.
• Coordinate suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, and internal engineering teams to deliver program milestones.
• Design simulation and testing approaches for constellation networking.
• Define KPIs, development schedules, staffing plans, and feature delivery rhythms.
• Plan major integration points and testing between engineering teams.
• Establish software development standards and procedures that meet customer and quality requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, aerospace engineering, or a similar technical discipline.
• 12+ years of relevant industry experience, including 3+ years managing projects and working with external contractors.
• Thorough understanding of network software and the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with Jira and systems engineering methods, including requirements management, systems trades, performance characterization, and interface management.
• Active TS/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in aerospace, computer science, electrical engineering, or another technical discipline.
• Experience with SDA NEBULA architectures, cybersecurity controls, encryption, or agile team leadership.
• Project management qualifications such as PMP or APMP.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, DevSecOps, Microsoft Project, or Smartsheet.
