Project Engineer, Gas (Gas Distribution)

Location: MA-Auburn, United States. Primarily office-based, with travel to operating districts, gas facilities, and companies across MA/CT/NH. Emergency restoration assignments may require work outside normal hours and location.

Annual salary: $116,370.00–$129,300.00, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

• Plan, design, schedule, and execute gas distribution and pressure regulating system projects, including major and complex assignments.
• Prepare site layouts, procurement, permitting, bidding, construction, and project documentation.
• Specify and procure materials and equipment while coordinating internal teams, contractors, customers, municipalities, and state authorities.
• Oversee construction activities and field procedures for compliance with company standards, safety requirements, codes, and regulations.
• Track project budgets, costs, invoices, resources, schedules, and progress; recommend adjustments when needed.
• Provide direction to junior staff and perform supervisory on-call assignments as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
• Five to eight years of related engineering experience.
• Thorough knowledge of gas distribution construction and maintenance practices and applicable governmental codes and regulations.
• Knowledge of welding and fusing principles, environmental requirements, procurement, and construction-site safety.
• Must be available to travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire and respond to emergency restoration assignments.
