Machine Operator I (Weekends) (CNC)

What you will do

• Operate CNC machines such as drills and saws in a steel plant.
• Measure finished steel structures with precision instruments, templates, and fixtures to verify specifications.
• Mount, align, secure, and adjust tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces.
• Monitor machines for dull cutting tools, excessive vibration, and other operating issues.
• Adjust machine feeds, speeds, cutting tools, controls, and machining sequences.
• Modify and save cutting programs, insert control instructions, and safely handle workpieces using hand tools, hoists, or cranes.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret typed reports and schedules.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and read a tape measure.
• Basic math aptitude.
• Completion of on-site training and demonstrated safe operation of machinery.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience or certification with moving machinery such as cranes preferred.
