Senior Sourcing Specialist (Aerospace Supply Chain)

Location: Dallas, Texas, United States; on-site

Salary: $88,000–$130,000 per month, plus bonus, benefits, and equity for regular employees.

What you will do

• Lead sourcing and procurement for mechanical commodities such as machined parts, sheet metal, welded assemblies, composites, fasteners, castings, forgings, tubes, and fittings.
• Identify, qualify, onboard, and manage suppliers for prototype, development, and production builds.
• Evaluate quotations, analyze costs, negotiate pricing and lead times, and execute purchase orders and long-term agreements.
• Partner with Engineering to review drawings, GD&T, bills of material, specifications, and engineering changes.
• Track supplier delivery, quality, responsiveness, capacity, and corrective actions while managing supply risks and mitigation plans.
• Coordinate NPI material readiness, FAI, PPAP where applicable, AS9100 compliance, supplier qualifications, and cross-functional supply chain issue resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, operations, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 5+ years of strategic sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain experience with mechanical commodities in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, BOMs, and manufacturing specifications.
• Experience negotiating supplier pricing, lead times, and commercial terms.
• Knowledge of CNC machining, welding, fabrication, finishing, heat treat, plating, and assembly processes.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel, plus familiarity with AS9100, FAI, and supplier qualification processes.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting aerospace or defense programs and prototype-to-production ramp-ups.
• Familiarity with DFARS, FAR, ITAR, and export compliance requirements.
• APICS/ASCM, CPSM, or CPSD certification.
