Senior Buyer, Machining (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Develop category strategies for machining suppliers that deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
• Manage assigned machining commodities end to end, from demand planning through contract fulfillment.
• Research suppliers, issue RFQs and RFPs, negotiate contracts, and develop the long-term supply base.
• Manage supplier performance across schedule, quality, delivery, cost, and supply-demand planning.
• Lead supplier improvement, value-engineering, BOM cost-breakdown, and should-cost analysis initiatives.
• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications while identifying alternative and innovative sourcing solutions.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of procurement experience, including 3 years in aerospace and/or manufacturing.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of CNC milling, CNC turning, multi-axis machining, complex assemblies, special processes, and inspection requirements.
• Experience sourcing tight-tolerance, low-volume/high-mix, prototype, development, or production machined hardware.
• Ability to use enterprise resource planning software for RFPs, purchase orders, and facilities work orders.
• Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing under U.S. export-control regulations.
