Director of Field Operations - Gas (Gas Power Generation)

Location: Remote within the U.S. with regular travel to project sites

What you will do

• Lead construction management across an assigned market segment or multiple gas power generation projects.
• Build and maintain strategic client relationships, identify success metrics, and strengthen delivery outcomes.
• Direct project managers and site supervision to ensure projects meet schedule, budget, quality, safety, and corporate policy requirements.
• Oversee project financial controls, including budgets, receivables, cash flow, cost-to-complete projections, and cost management reporting.
• Develop project managers and construction leaders through coaching, mentoring, performance evaluations, training, and succession planning.
• Collaborate with general superintendents and peer directors on project staffing, promotions, assignments, wage reviews, and bonus reviews.

Requirements

• Four-year degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
• Five or more years of directly relevant experience in utility-scale natural gas power generation, heavy industrial construction, or EPC field execution.
• Demonstrated experience leading more than one project team simultaneously.
• Knowledge of construction techniques, estimating, contracts, regulations, cost control, engineering and design, electrical construction, and power delivery.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, supervisory, conflict management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Microsoft Office, Primavera, and CTC net skills, plus a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; regular travel is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with reciprocating engine plants, aeroderivative turbines, simple-cycle and combined-cycle gas plants, fuel cell systems, balance-of-plant, fuel gas, and interconnection scopes.
• Experience with midstream oil and gas infrastructure or complex heavy industrial facilities.
• PMP certification.
