Senior Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Palo Alto, California, United States; hybrid

Salary: $250,000–$300,000 per year, plus equity and bonus.

What you will do

• Manage, mentor, and grow Software Engineers and Tech Leads across customer-facing product and Forward Deployed Engineering teams.
• Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and engineering leadership to turn product roadmaps into executable plans and predictable deliveries.
• Oversee technical design, code quality, and architectural trade-offs for high-volume real-time data systems and AI agentic workflows.
• Improve agile practices, sprint planning, delivery cadence, operational processes, incident response, and engineering metrics.
• Collaborate with Customer Success and Sales to address customer pain points and deliver business value.
• Recruit, interview, onboard, and develop engineering talent.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience and 3+ years of direct people management experience leading software engineering teams.
• Track record of recruiting, onboarding, and developing high-performing engineers and Tech Leads.
• Ability to align technical execution with product goals, define milestones, and manage team capacity.
• Strong software development background for evaluating architecture and guiding technical decisions.
• Experience improving delivery processes, code reviews, and incident response in fast-paced environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with B2B SaaS, social data platforms, developer tools, marketing technology, or social products.
• Experience with AI-powered systems, real-time analytics platforms, or agentic frameworks.
• Familiarity with AWS, TypeScript, React, Postgres, and ClickHouse.
• Experience overseeing teams working across web and native mobile applications.
