Senior Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Hybrid, based in or willing to relocate to NYC and work in person at the Manhattan HQ. The engineering team includes remote members across LATAM working the same hours as the NYC office.

Salary: $240K–$265K annually plus equity.

What you will do

• Lead delivery health across three established engineering teams, including scope management, predictable shipping, and rapid unblocking.
• Coach engineers, support career development, provide substantive feedback, and improve retention and engagement.
• Drive hiring processes and maintain a high hiring bar through structured interview loops.
• Review complex code changes, establish engineering standards, and make architectural decisions with senior tech leads.
• Champion AI tooling such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex to improve engineering velocity.
• Partner with Product and Design in NYC to shape scope and communicate execution context to the remote LATAM team.

Requirements

• Experience managing remote or distributed engineering teams.
• 3+ years managing engineers, including delivery, performance, hiring, and team growth.
• Strong full-stack or platform engineering depth with experience across Rails, React, Next.js, PostgreSQL, and GraphQL, or the ability to close gaps quickly.
• Strong system-design judgment covering data models, service boundaries, failure modes, and scalability.
• Experience shipping complex product and platform work end-to-end with measurable business impact.
• Based in or willing to relocate to NYC and work in person at the HQ.

Nice to have

• Experience building production AI-powered features, including LLM integrations, agentic workflows, or intelligent automations.
• Fintech experience in financial services, wealth management, regulatory compliance, or financial data integrations.
• Experience leading in an early-stage, high-ambiguity startup.
