Senior Engineering Manager (AI)

Salary: $215,000–$250,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Own end-to-end execution of the engineering team's roadmap across planning, prioritization, delivery, rollout, and iteration.
• Guide architecture and design decisions for observable, maintainable systems that meet healthcare-grade reliability standards.
• Partner with Product, Implementations, Design, Clinical, Customer Success, and go-to-market teams to translate customer problems into engineering work.
• Improve planning, estimation, code review, incident response, on-call, documentation, and AI-enabled engineering efficiency.
• Use data and metrics to track reliability, performance, and delivery health.
• Hire engineers, develop existing talent, and foster psychological safety, ownership, and continuous learning.

Requirements

• 6–8+ years of experience managing software engineers and leading teams that ship and operate production software at scale.
• Hands-on engineering background and comfort engaging deeply in technical discussions.
• Experience with production web or cloud applications using modern stacks such as Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, React, distributed systems, and a major cloud provider.
• Strong execution, prioritization, stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional influence.
• Experience hiring, onboarding, managing performance, and supporting career development.
• Ability to work on-site in San Francisco, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthtech, healthcare data, or regulated environments involving HIPAA, PHI, or SOC 2.
• Familiarity with radiology workflows and systems such as PACS, RIS, EHR, HL7/FHIR, or DICOM.
• Experience leading teams operating ML/AI systems in production.
• Experience managing multiple teams or a small engineering organization.
