VoIP Engineer

Location: Remote from Brazil, Argentina, or Mexico

What you will do

• Understand how telephony services work and integrate across the platform.
• Operate, maintain, expand, and support SIP proxies based on Kamailio or OpenSIPS.
• Handle Level 3 troubleshooting escalations, triage issues, and resolve voice and network protocol problems.
• Analyze telephony traffic patterns, identify anomalies, and respond to critical alerts to restore service.
• Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain monitoring, alerting, QA, and logging tools for telephony applications.
• Coordinate maintenance and deployment events and work with partners on interconnections and expansions.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a similar field.
• Strong understanding of IP telephony, TCP/IP networks, and protocols including SIP, RTP, RTCP, ISUP, TLS, STUN, TURN, and WebRTC.
• Experience with VoIP applications such as Kamailio, OpenSIPS, FreeSWITCH, RTPEngine, and Asterisk.
• Experience with Linux, open-source tools, and shell scripting.
• Experience with containers and automation or orchestration tools such as Docker, Ansible, Jenkins, and Kubernetes.

Nice to have

• Programming experience with Python, Elixir, or Go.
• Experience with Wireshark, sngrep, or Homer.
