TL;DR
Mission Engineer, Cleared (Aerospace Communications): Building high-fidelity system models and production-ready software integrations for dynamic wireless communication networks with an accent on wireless link analysis, network simulation, and adapter-layer development. Focus on integrating customer hardware through Python or Go, modeling complex network topologies, and diagnosing resilient live-network operations issues.

Location: Remote (United States). Access to export-controlled information requires U.S. person status, eligibility to access the information without export authorization, or eligibility and reasonable likelihood of obtaining the required export authorization.

What you will do

  • Build and maintain high-fidelity system models in Spacetime for dynamic wireless communication networks.
  • Design and write production-ready adapter layers, primarily in Python or Go, connecting Spacetime with customer hardware.
  • Create and optimize Protobuf, JSON, and gRPC schemas for complex external network topologies.
  • Perform RF link-budget analysis, wave-propagation modeling, and coverage simulations.
  • Lead tier-3 escalation for live networks and diagnose complex system-integration issues.
  • Collaborate with Product and Software Engineering to turn custom integrations into reusable product features.

Requirements

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals combined with physical-layer communications knowledge.
  • Hands-on software development experience and readiness to pass an entry-level software engineering coding assessment.
  • Experience with wireless communication systems, RF path loss, propagation, network topology, and link budgets.
  • Practical experience with system or network simulation and modeling tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, typically with 3+ years of professional engineering experience.
  • Must satisfy U.S. export-control eligibility requirements for access to controlled information.

Nice to have

  • Experience with software-defined networking, BGP, or GCP/AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience delivering high-stakes integrations for defense, aerospace, or commercial telecommunications clients.
