Regional Health and Safety Manager (Chemical)

Location: Hybrid role based at the Bedford Park, IL, US location; minimum 50% travel expected for field support.

Salary: $122,000–$135,000 per year, plus eligibility for incentive pay.

What you will do

• Act as the regional liaison between national health and safety programs and regional operations, including drafting, introducing, educating, and training on new programs.
• Support continuous improvement of health and safety measures across individual facilities.
• Lead preparation of required plans, including PSM plans, and facility operating procedures such as machine-specific LOTO procedures.
• Serve as the regional contact for local, federal, and state health and safety agencies and monitor developing regulatory requirements.
• Lead EHS audits, support operations in addressing findings, and participate in accident investigations and root cause analysis for injuries and near misses.
• Define and support health and safety performance metrics and participate in cross-functional projects and committees.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience providing health and safety functional oversight for multiple locations within a region for a chemical or related company that includes warehousing and transportation fleet operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Thorough familiarity with OSHA and state equivalents for chemical or related facilities.
• Demonstrated ability to manage federal, state, and local regulatory compliance across multiple facilities in multiple states.
• Demonstrated ability to audit facilities effectively and thoroughly and assist with addressing audit findings.
• Demonstrated ability to manage OSHA recordkeeping and health and safety metrics for multiple facilities.
• Demonstrated ability to develop health and safety training content and facilitate learning through leader-led training and other learning platforms.
