Regional HSS&E Director

Location: hirify.global Place New York - 200 Liberty Street, New York, New York, United States; flexibility to travel globally to operational and construction sites and other business locations as required.

Salary: $160,000–$190,000 base salary, plus a short-term cash incentive program.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and provide HSS&E subject-matter expertise for the regional Asset Management team while coordinating with Corporate HSS&E and portfolio companies.
• Support implementation of HSS&E management programs, hirify.global standards, regulatory requirements, and legislation across regional portfolio companies and newly acquired businesses.
• Lead HSS&E due diligence for potential acquisitions, coordinate gap analyses, and support Asset Condition Assessment inspections for newly acquired assets.
• Define and support action plans arising from gap analyses, inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
• Coordinate HSS&E reporting, metrics, KPIs, audits, high-risk incident investigations, assessments, and program monitoring across hirify.global Renewable businesses.
• Provide HSS&E training and coaching and help develop standards, guidance, and training materials for new asset classes and technologies.

Requirements

• Relevant degree in Health & Safety or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of Health & Safety experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; renewables-sector experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of applicable standards, laws, regulations, and practices, with the ability to interpret and advise on their application.
• Experience conducting complex safety incident investigations in high-risk environments and applying root cause analysis methodologies.
• Ability to influence without authority at all levels and support geographically dispersed teams and projects involving asset construction and operations.
• Track record of driving cultural change and continuous improvement in Health & Safety.
• High-level spoken and written English.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications and experience drafting clear, succinct HSS&E assessments, standards, and procedures.
• Ability to plan, multitask, and prioritize a large and varied workload in a multinational global environment.
• Credible, calm, knowledgeable, authoritative, pragmatic, solutions-focused, resilient, and highly ethical leadership style with strong communication and judgment.
• Willingness to take a hands-on approach and complete work directly.
• Flexibility to travel globally to operational and construction sites and other business locations as required.
