Senior Manager, Facilities (Biotech)

Location: Bridgewater, New Jersey, US; full-time, in-person presence required at the NJ facility. Occasional domestic travel of up to 10% and occasional after-hours availability are required.

Salary: $124,000–$161,000 annual.

What you will do

• Manage day-to-day operations of laboratory, special-use, office, and common spaces at the NJ facilities.
• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance for access control, CCTV, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression, BMS/BAS, refrigeration, compressed gases, and HEPA-filtered HVAC systems.
• Support facility renovations, expansions, capital improvement projects, space planning, and facility operations in Lebanon, NH and San Diego, CA.
• Maintain compliance with GxP, FDA, EPA, OSHA, NJ DEP, and other applicable regulations; support audits, EHS programs, hazardous waste management, biosafety, LEMS, and LCCP activities.
• Manage vendors, contractors, service contracts, suppliers, purchasing, facilities budgets, expenditures, variance reporting, and capital expenditure business cases.
• Supervise and develop maintenance technicians and facilities coordinators, and support the planned Security Operations Center and its access control and CCTV systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• 8+ years of facilities management experience, including at least 3 years in a biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences environment.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory operations and FDA facility requirements.
• Experience managing critical utility systems, including HVAC, server rooms, and purified water systems.
• Proven project management experience with contributions to facility construction or renovation projects.
• Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and NJ DEP environmental and safety regulations.
• Experience with CMMS and BMS/BAS platforms.

Nice to have

• Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Facilities Management Professional (FMP) designation.
• Experience with ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 environmental and safety management systems.
• Experience with LEED-certified, WELL-Certified, or sustainable facility operations.
• Knowledge of BSL-1 and BSL-2 biosafety levels and laboratory safety requirements.
• Familiarity with NJ-specific building codes and permitting processes.
