Cloud FinOps Analyst II

Location: Hybrid in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada

Salary: $82,400–$121,440 base salary plus corporate bonus

What you will do

• Monitor and reconcile multi-cloud spend across AWS, Azure, and GCP using native billing tools and CloudZero.
• Analyze invoices, usage reports, and billing exports to explain variances, identify cost drivers, and validate billing accuracy.
• Design tagging, cost allocation, showback, and unit-economics frameworks for products, services, environments, and teams.
• Identify waste and over-provisioning, then partner with Engineering and SRE to deliver rightsizing and remediation initiatives.
• Evaluate Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and Committed Use Discounts using forecasting and scenario modeling.
• Build executive dashboards, self-service datasets, automated pipelines, and AI-assisted workflows for cloud cost analytics.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in FP&A, FinOps, or a similar analytical role, including cloud financial management at scale.
• Strong knowledge of cloud pricing and consumption models for at least one major cloud provider.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Cost Explorer/CUR, Azure Cost Management, or GCP Billing and BigQuery exports.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Python, SQL, or similar tools for large-scale billing data analysis and automation.
• Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, dashboards, cost allocation, tagging strategies, and unit-economics KPIs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• MBA, FinOps certification, or cloud financial management certification.
• Experience using Claude or other AI tools for analysis, anomaly detection, and visualization.
