Project Engineer (Gas Distribution)

Location: Somerville, MA, United States; travel between MA, CT, and NH is required. The role includes emergency restoration assignments outside normal responsibilities, work hours, and location.

Annual salary: $116,370–$129,300, commensurate with experience; potential incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Plan, design, schedule, and deliver gas distribution and pressure regulating system projects, including major and complex projects.
• Prepare site layouts, procurement, permitting, construction, bidding, schedules, and purchase order awards.
• Coordinate materials, equipment, contractors, customers, municipalities, states, and internal departments.
• Monitor construction progress, safety, code compliance, project budgets, costs, resources, and schedules.
• Develop field procedures and reports, support capital project planning, and provide financial information to management.
• Provide direction to junior staff and perform supervisory on-call assignments when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
• At least five years of related engineering experience.
• Thorough knowledge of distribution construction and maintenance practices and applicable governmental codes and regulations.
• Knowledge of welding and fusing principles, environmental requirements, and Microsoft computer operations.
• Availability for emergency restoration assignments and travel to operating districts, gas facilities, and other locations.
