Plumbing Designer/Plumbing Engineering Specialist

Location: Boston, Massachusetts; onsite in the Boston, MA office

Compensation: $91,976.90–$105,116.46 per year

What you will do

• Prepare plumbing designs, calculations, estimates, reports, and specifications under the direction of senior engineers and designers.
• Design plumbing systems for public transit, convention centers, maintenance facilities, municipal buildings, schools, healthcare, retail, and other building projects.
• Conduct site surveys to document existing conditions.
• Assist with construction punch lists and support project delivery.
• Participate in client meetings, discuss project needs, and provide recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, and/or a CPD credential.
• 3–5 years of relevant plumbing design experience across industrial, educational, institutional, or governmental facilities.
• Experience with plumbing systems including sanitary, storm, domestic water, and natural gas.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, hydraulic calculations, specification writing, applicable building codes, and cost estimating.
• Strong planning, organization, collaboration, ownership, and communication skills.
• This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• LEED AP, CPD, or PE certification or progress toward PE licensure.
• Exposure to fire protection systems, including wet, dry, and pre-action sprinklers and standpipes.
• Experience with industrial, state agency, or municipal projects.
