Shift Supervisor - Day Shift (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: On-site in Dallas, TX, based at hirify.global's Lancaster, TX terminal. Day shift is 7:00 AM–5:00 PM CT, with flexible start and end times, extended shifts of up to approximately 14 hours, weekends, holidays, and travel to remote sites and roadside locations as needed.

What you will do

• Manage end-to-end shifts for Vehicle Operators and Fleet Specialists, including testing missions, commercial runs, work assignments, and operational KPIs.
• Lead, coach, schedule, and develop Vehicle Operators, including performance management, time-off requests, and corrective action.
• Enforce safety, compliance, pre-trip and post-trip inspection, Enhanced Inspection Program, fatigue-management, and Hours of Service requirements.
• Evaluate crews through direct observation, remote monitoring, ride-alongs, and safety-event reviews, providing real-time coaching.
• Coordinate personnel-to-vehicle assignments, shift handoffs, incident response, terminal checks, fleet tools, ELD logs, dispatch status, audits, and timekeeping.
• Escalate operational, mechanical, technical, Priority, and Critical issues while coordinating with Dispatch, Fleet Readiness, engineering, customer facilities, carrier partners, and site contacts.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in fleet operations, logistics, or transportation management.
• Proven leadership experience managing CDL operators or shift-based teams, such as a supervisor, team lead, or lead driver.
• Active Class A CDL is strongly preferred; understanding the technical and physical demands of Class 8 operations is critical.
• Deep knowledge of DOT and FMCSA transportation regulations, especially Hours of Service and commercial-operator compliance.
• Experience working in a technical or testing environment.
• Proficiency with fleet management software, scheduling tools, and telematics platforms.
• Strong written communication, sound judgment under ambiguity, a bias for action, and the ability to make defensible decisions in the moment.
• Willingness and ability to work the specified day shift with flexible hours, extended shifts, weekends, holidays, and travel to remote or roadside locations.
• Passion for self-driving technology, solving hard problems, and building a culture of safety and operational excellence.

Nice to have

• Prior autonomous vehicle experience.
• Experience supervising a shift-based or 24/7 operation.
• Enhanced Inspection Protocol certification or CVSA inspection training.
• Experience conducting formal safety observations, audits, or incident investigations.
