Fleet Operations Manager 1 (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: On-site at the Fort Worth, Texas facility; occasional travel to other sites and states; ability to collaborate across locations and time zones required.

Hiring range: $117,600–$141,100 USD annually, plus a bonus component and stock options.

What you will do

• Oversee autonomous Class 8 truck testing, dispatch and recovery of test vehicles, testing objectives, and the site safety process.
• Supervise Logistics Managers and their teams, including hiring, onboarding, goal setting, career development, performance management, and employee relations.
• Run daily fleet operations by building schedules, assigning and monitoring work, setting productivity standards, resolving operational issues, and maintaining procedures.
• Manage transportation expenses, inventories, asset tracking, procurement, budgeting, forecasting, vendor administration, and fleet licensing and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, FMCSA, EPA, local fire code, and applicable industry and state requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, safety, finance, people operations, talent acquisition, IT, emergency responders, law enforcement, insurers, and transportation officials to maintain safe and continual operations.

Requirements

• Six years of progressive experience in operations and management of a transportation or trucking center and fleet.
• Knowledge of autonomous vehicles and the opportunities and challenges of a fast-moving environment.
• Working knowledge of industry legal obligations, regulations, and guidelines.
• Experience with budgeting, procurement and financial operations, supervision and training, facilities and asset management, and crisis management.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust with a diverse workforce.
• Solid technical knowledge and the ability to understand technical designs, challenges, and risks to optimize autonomous vehicle operations.
• Strong facilitation, presentation, business judgment, collaboration, organization, and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and audio/visual equipment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing business needs, develop colleagues, and maintain sensitive and confidential information.
• Valid US driver’s license with a safe driving record; ability to work overtime when project demands, wear required personal protective equipment, work outdoors in varying weather, and occasionally lift and carry up to 40 pounds.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
