Operations Manager

Location: Montgomery; fully in-person onsite role, with an expectation of being onsite 4-5 days per week. Candidates must be able to commute to the Montgomery area 4-5 days per week.

Salary: $65,000-$90,000 per year. Final salary depends on experience, knowledge, and skills; the stated salary excludes equity and variable pay where applicable.

What you will do

• Run daily onsite operations to provide safe, reliable, and accessible transportation.
• Make real-time decisions concerning fleet operations, driver supply, compliance, rider needs, and unexpected service issues.
• Guide and support drivers, build strong relationships, address concerns, and help drivers deliver dependable service.
• Analyze rider and community feedback, identify patterns, and collaborate with internal teams on operational improvements.
• Use data and technology to assess service performance, diagnose problems, and improve efficiency and rider experience.
• Coordinate between city partners, drivers, and hirify.global central teams to deliver community transportation goals.

Requirements

• Operational experience in people management, logistics, customer service, or process-oriented work.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, and follow-through skills with drivers, riders, teammates, and city partners.
• Hands-on, proactive approach with a willingness to work in the field and solve problems where they occur.
• Ability to resolve tactical issues while developing long-term solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Motivation to expand access to transportation and improve how communities move.
• Deep understanding of fixed-route transit challenges, including time-point adherence, breakdown escalations, and run scheduling for large-scale operations.
• Comfort working around Class B/Class A vehicles and understanding of the safety, maintenance, and maneuvering requirements for 35-to-45-foot coach buses.
• Proven experience managing and retaining professional CDL drivers while emphasizing safety, DOT/FMCSA compliance, and morale in a high-pressure scheduled environment.
• Ability to commute to the Montgomery area 4-5 days per week.
