Team Lead, Vehicle Operations (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Phoenix, AZ, United States. On-site work required for all scheduled shifts. First shift: 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, Tuesday–Saturday.

Base salary: $96,000–$116,000 per year. Additional compensation may include Amazon RSUs, Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights, and a sign-on bonus.

Zoox is developing an autonomous mobility solution and scaling robotaxi vehicle operations.

What you will do

• Lead and support Vehicle Operators in daily operations while maintaining a safety-focused, inclusive, and open-communication culture.
• Manage team administration, including timesheet approval, expense reports, schedule validation, and written and verbal performance feedback.
• Coordinate with other Team Leads and Program/Project Managers to align vehicle operations with organizational goals.
• Become a subject matter expert in Zoox’s proprietary Vehicle Operations software and mentor direct reports and contingent workforce personnel.
• Answer questions from contingent workforce personnel and ensure assignments are understood and executed.
• Conduct recurring safety-focused testing and use operational metrics to drive process and product improvements with product and program management.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional work experience in a cross-functional and product-based environment.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience.
• Experience working in a highly collaborative environment and promoting teamwork.
• Proven ability to solve problems and improve operational efficiency with a proactive and resourceful approach.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues.
• Excellent driving history.
• Ability to work on-site at the assigned location for all scheduled shifts.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree.
• People management experience, including performance management and reviews.
• 3+ years of experience in the autonomous vehicle industry.
• 4+ years of operations experience.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams on go-to-market initiatives.
