Sr. Manager, Market Operations (Autonomous Transportation)

Location: Phoenix, AZ; onsite five days a week.

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end market operations as the primary site leader, including depot, yard, freight, fueling, fleet, safety, customer SLA, and vendor operations.
• Oversee facility layouts, yard traffic, inbound and outbound staging, route schedules, fueling protocols, and vehicle turnaround optimization.
• Partner with fleet, AV Engineering, Hardware, and Product teams on vehicle maintenance, field testing, sensor calibration, software and hardware upgrades, and diagnostic troubleshooting.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, performance management, shift operations, and recertification for safety drivers, field operators, and yard technicians.
• Enforce the Safety Management System and compliance with DOT, FMCSA, IFTA, vehicle registration, DVIR, HOS, and local fuel storage and permitting requirements.
• Launch new depots, customer hubs, and expansion routes; evaluate route feasibility and build relationships with municipal authorities, landlords, customers, and regional partners.

Requirements

• 6–10+ years of operational leadership in freight logistics, depot operations, commercial fleet management, autonomous transportation, or high-velocity logistics hubs.
• Direct experience managing multidisciplinary teams across fleet, safety, customer service, field technicians, and shift supervision.
• Deep expertise in middle-mile or last-mile freight flows, yard management systems, dock staging, and fleet fueling infrastructure.
• Solid mechanical understanding of commercial vehicle systems, including brakes, powertrains, electrical systems, and preventive maintenance, with the ability to work in an R&D and technology environment.
• Hands-on experience negotiating vendor SLAs, managing regional maintenance providers, and holding suppliers accountable.
• Willingness to resolve real-time field disruptions onsite at local depots.
• Strong business acumen linking depot execution to commercial growth, vendor costs, and market profitability.
• Data-driven approach using KPIs and diagnostic metrics to identify root causes and implement lasting fixes.
• Excellent communication and leadership presence when representing hirify.global to enterprise clients, municipal officials, and local workforces.
