Project Engineer, Engineering, Gas (Gas)

Location: MA-Lawrence (Marston St), United States. Work is performed primarily in an office, with travel to operating districts, gas facilities, and companies across MA, CT, and NH. Emergency restoration assignments may require work outside normal responsibilities, hours, and location.

Annual salary: $116,370–$129,300, commensurate with experience. The position may also be eligible for an incentive.

What you will do

• Plan, design, schedule, and execute gas distribution and pressure regulating system projects, including major and complex projects.
• Prepare site layouts, procurement and permitting documents, construction packages, material specifications, and bid processes.
• Coordinate contractors, customers, municipalities, state authorities, and internal departments throughout construction and project delivery.
• Track project budgets, costs, invoices, schedules, resources, and progress, recommending adjustments when needed.
• Maintain field procedures and oversee construction activities for compliance with company standards, regulations, codes, and safety policies.
• Provide direction to junior staff and perform supervisory on-call and emergency restoration assignments as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
• At least five years of related engineering experience.
• Thorough knowledge of gas distribution construction and maintenance practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of applicable governmental codes, regulations, environmental requirements, welding, and fusing principles.
• Availability to travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire and to respond to emergency restoration assignments.
