Engineer, Gas

Location: MA-Lawrence (Marston St), United States; travel between MA, CT, and NH is required, including travel to gas facilities and operating districts. Emergency restoration assignments may require work outside normal hours and locations.

Annual salary: $100,490–$111,660, plus potential incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Design gas distribution and pressure-regulating systems, including regulator stations, telemetry, uprates, distribution mains, and culvert crossings.
• Prepare site layouts and documentation for procurement, permitting, and construction; specify and procure materials and equipment.
• Develop and maintain field procedures aligned with company standards, governmental regulations, and applicable codes.
• Coordinate construction activities with customers, contractors, municipalities, state authorities, and internal departments.
• Support construction oversight, specification and code compliance, Gas Control coordination, and review of purchase requisitions and invoices.
• Assist with gas distribution system restoration during emergencies and perform supervisory on-call assignments.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of distribution construction and maintenance practices, governmental codes and regulations, welding and fusing principles, and environmental requirements.
• Familiarity with Microsoft computer operations and technical documentation.
• Must be available for emergency restoration assignments and travel between MA, CT, and NH.
• This is a safety-sensitive position subject to random drug testing.
