Manager, Technical Design (Apparel)

What you will do

• Lead the technical development of apparel patterns, fit blocks, construction specifications, materials, and sampling from seasonal development through production handoff.
• Supervise the Technical Design team and coordinate with Product Development, Production Technical Design, Manufacturing, overseas offices, and vendor suppliers.
• Maintain fit libraries, 3D pattern design assets, technical construction manuals, bills of materials, labeling and packaging manuals, and folding guides.
• Resolve pattern, construction, quality, finishing, findings, and systems issues during pre-production.
• Improve system management and implement best practices, new technology, and efficient processes.
• Train direct reports and conduct performance reviews and appraisals.

Requirements

• 10+ years of apparel manufacturing experience with extensive knowledge of pattern making, technical product development processes, and related systems.
• In-depth knowledge of end-to-end product manufacturing processes; jeanswear bottoms or tops experience is preferred.
• Experience managing a large team and demonstrating leadership, organization, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• High proficiency in AccuMark, 3D, Illustrator, Microsoft Office applications, and SAP.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
