Engineering Manager, Credit Cards & Banking (Fintech)

Location: Menlo Park, New York, or Bellevue offices; in-person attendance required 5 days per week

Base pay: $230,000–$270,000 USD annually in Zone 1; additional compensation may include bonuses, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead, grow, and support software engineering teams working on Credit Cards & Banking products.
• Set direction across execution, technical design, architecture, and people development.
• Partner with product, design, data, compliance, operations, and engineering stakeholders to define roadmaps and launch customer-facing experiences.
• Drive reliable, scalable card and banking systems across mobile, frontend, backend, and platform dependencies.
• Improve planning, prioritization, feedback, career development, team health, and engineering effectiveness.
• Hire exceptional engineers and maintain high standards for quality, reliability, and customer trust.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience and at least 2+ years managing engineering teams.
• Experience leading teams that build and ship customer-facing products at scale.
• Strong technical judgment, architecture collaboration, and execution skills.
• Experience with complex distributed systems, backend services, or full-stack consumer products.
• Track record of driving cross-functional initiatives from concept through launch.
• Experience coaching, developing, and performance-managing engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, banking, credit cards, payments, lending, or other regulated domains.
• Experience leading rapid growth, product expansion, or platform scaling.
• Experience with mobile-first or consumer app experiences.
• Familiarity with modern backend and data systems in high-availability environments.
