Senior Engineering Manager (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in Arlington, Virginia, United States, with an expectation of working in the office at least 50% of the time, typically three days per week.

Salary: $208,000–$260,000 USD annually, plus equity and total compensation components.

What you will do

• Lead engineers building the hirify.global Global Card across multiple geographies.
• Own end-to-end development of customer screens, APIs, and services for card issuance, balances, and money movement.
• Set engineering strategy, lead complex cross-team initiatives, and resolve challenging technical problems.
• Partner with Product, Design, Analytics, and engineering teams to prioritize roadmaps and define OKRs.
• Manage execution, quarterly goals, resource allocation, and prioritization.
• Hire, onboard, mentor, and develop engineering teams while enabling safe adoption of AI coding tools.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on technical management.
• 4+ years of recent experience hiring and managing technical teams, including performance management.
• Experience building full-stack software, designing APIs, and working across server-client interactions.
• Expertise in at least one backend or full-stack language, such as Go, Kotlin, Java, or TypeScript.
• Experience designing secure, scalable, performant software on cloud infrastructure such as AWS.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
