Engineering Manager, Deals and Offers (Fintech)

Location: San Francisco, CA, USA; in-office policy is four days per week with Fridays from home for employees near an office. A fully remote program is also available depending on eligibility and location.

Salary: $199,000–$275,000 base per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead, hire, coach, and develop a team of 4–5 engineers.
• Stay hands-on by writing and shipping code, reviewing pull requests, and leading design reviews.
• Own technical direction for member-facing deals, cashback, discovery, claim, and redemption experiences.
• Drive architecture and technical decisions for reliable, instrumented, scalable offers platforms.
• Partner with Product, Design, Analytics, engineering teams, merchants, and external vendors on experimentation and integrations.
• Maintain high standards for quality, performance, testing, on-call operations, and incident response.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience managing people, including hiring and developing engineers.
• Current hands-on coding ability and willingness to contribute code and review pull requests.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor.
• Strong technical foundation with experience guiding architecture and reviewing technical decisions.
• Experience shipping consumer product features, running experiments, and measuring impact.
• Experience with service-oriented architectures and backend platforms at scale.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, React Native, AWS, and distributed systems.
• Experience integrating with third-party partners or vendors.
